Join Assistant Conductor Elias Miller for our Summer Night Music series as he leads the Columbus Symphony in an exciting program inspired by birds. Contemporary composer Sam Wu's Eagle Huntress calls on the sounds of traditional Mongolian music to tell the story of a fearless girl determined to forge her own path. Haydn's charming Symphony No. 83 is known as La poule — listen for the sounds of the hen that inspired this fanciful nickname. Tchaikovsky's warm and lush Serenade for Strings, a perennial favorite, is the perfect way to round out a summer evening of invigorating music.
