Supporting the missions of central Ohio social service organizations by bringing the transformative power of music to their clients, constituencies, students, and staff.
Committed to deepening its service to the community, the Columbus Symphony launched its Cares program in 2018. The program is designed to support the missions of Central Ohio social service organizations through the creation of partnerships that bring the transformative power of music to their clients, constituencies, students, and staff. In just its first year, the program served approximately 2,000 people across 18 different non-profit organizations, and since then, its impact has only grown.
Programming for Columbus Symphony Cares is customized to suit the needs and mission of each partner organization. Options include small ensemble performances at partners’ headquarters or program sites, special nights at the Columbus Symphony (free tickets, pre-concert reception, meet-and-greets with musicians, etc.), instrument “petting zoos” for children, instruction/mentoring sessions with musicians, appearances by the Columbus Symphony’s mascot “Bee-thoven,” and more.
