“We are here for you”

Started in the 2021-2022 season, the Columbus Symphony launched “We are here for you,” an innovative three-year plan centered on extraordinary and meaningful service to the central Ohio community. As the Symphony works to be here for all residents of Columbus and surrounding areas, we will be focused on removing barriers, such as cost and physical location to advance our community impact. Some examples include:

Here for Putting the Star in Columbus

We are here to use our unique assets to increase artistic excellence, elevate the status and stature of our community, and grow the economic impact of the arts throughout the region. We seek to play an integral part of making Columbus a cultural destination and to gain national attention for the “We are here for you” success and direction.

Here for Students

All local Title 1 elementary schools will be provided with free tickets to attend the Young People’s Concerts at the Ohio Theatre and the number of in-school concerts will be increased to 20 performances.

Here for Diverse Populations

The Symphony will increase its presence in diverse neighborhoods and communities, offering a broader opportunity for inclusivity and accessible programming, and we will continue to provide programming that speaks to diverse groups.

Here for Families

All children aged 6-16 will receive free admission to all Masterworks subscription concerts throughout the 2022-23 season.

Here for the Business Community

The Columbus Symphony will perform at least 20 free, small ensemble concerts on-site at local businesses to positively contribute to the mental and physical health and well-being of its employees.

Here for Rural Communities

The Columbus Symphony will increase its reach to unserved communities whose geographic location makes attending in the concert hall difficult.

Here for Individuals with Disabilities

An individual assisting a patron with physical disabilities to attend a Columbus Symphony concert will receive free admission.

Here for Heroes

In partnership with the VetTix Foundation, the Columbus Symphony will make free tickets available for active-duty members of the military, veterans, and their families to attend all Masterworks subscription concerts throughout the 2022-23 season.

Here for Seniors

The Symphony will increase the number of free, on-site engagement events at senior living facilities by 30%. Patrons 90+ will receive free admission to all Masterworks concerts.
