Jonquil Thoms joined the Columbus Symphony Orchestra as a full time member in 1978.
She received her bachelor's of music from The University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and her master's of music from The Cleveland Institute of Music. She has attended the Aspen Music Festival and Blossom Music Festival. Awards include the Herrmann Scholarship from UC-CCM and the Joseph Gingold Award from the Blossom Music Festival. Jonquil served as Assistant Concertmaster of the Columbus Symphony for several years. Her major teachers include Edgar Muenzer, Wilbert Frisch, Jens Ellerman, and David Cerone. Along with her responsibilities with the CSO, she enjoys teaching violin, biking, gardening, and spending time with her daughter.
