Genevieve Stefiuk is the Second Flutist of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Before joining the CSO in 2011, Genevieve was the Second Flutist with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. While in Alabama, Genevieve also enjoyed teaching on the faculties of the University of Montevallo, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to her time in Alabama, Genevieve played piccolo in Washington D.C. as a member of "Pershing's Own" The United States Army Band. Other orchestral appearances throughout her career have included concerts with the Maryland Symphony, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Genevieve was also featured as a soloist on the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s 2012 concert of the Bach, Brandenburg Concertos. Genevieve earned degrees from both the University of North Texas and from the Yale School of Music. While attending University of North Texas, Genevieve was the Piccoloist of the Irving Symphony Orchestra and Co-Principal Flutist of Sinfonía de Minería, a summer music festival in Mexico City. Genevieve has also performed with the Rhode Island based summer chamber music festival, Music on the Hill.
