Principal Trombone

Andrew Millat brings a wealth of experience and energy to his role as Principal Trombone of the Columbus Symphony, where he can be heard in classical concerts at the Ohio Theate and in Picnic with the Pops, on the lawn of Columbus Commons. He is equally at home in a brass quintet, as trombonist with the Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra, and in solo recital. His teaching resume includes success with students from elementary through adult, with most of his teaching in recent years at the college level, including Cedarville University and Ohio University.His formal education includes degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the University of Northern Colorado. Andy was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, and is former Principal Trombone of the Dayton Philharmonic. He also served for six years as an enlisted professional musician in the United States Air Force Academy Band. He lives with his family in Hilliard, and in his spare time enjoys gardening and beekeeping.
