Marcus will explore the relationship between art and music in the Russian Empire at the end of the 19th century\, focusing on Arensky’s predecessor Modest Mussorgsky and artist Viktor Hartmann. \nThe program includes a brief lecture on Mussorgsky\, Hartmann\, and their shared commitment to Russian folk culture\, followed by a live performance by Columbus Symphony musicians.
