FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m a CSO Season Ticket Subscriber and I already know I’ll need to exchange one or some of my tickets for the shows in the upcoming season. How soon can I exchange?

Beginning July 15, you may exchange tickets as needed. The Columbus Symphony strives to be flexible so subscribers are able to exchange tickets to another Columbus Symphony Masterworks performance.

I cannot attend one of my performances due to a conflict. How do I exchange tickets?

As a Season Ticket Subscriber, if you are unable to attend one of your scheduled performances, you are able to exchange your tickets for another Columbus Symphony performance. Keep in mind when exchanging, that the same seats may not be available. We will make every effort to try and place you into comparable seating. Please note that exchanges MUST be done at least 24 hours in advance of your performance. Tickets for a Saturday or Sunday performance must be exchanged by 5pm on Friday.

There are four ways to exchange your tickets:

  1. Mail your tickets to CBUSArts Ticket Center | 39 East State Street, Columbus Ohio 43215
  2. Call the CBUSArts Ticket Center at 614.469.0939. The CBUSArts Ticket Center’s phones are open Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm.
  3. Email your tickets to [email protected]
  4. In-person at the CBUSArts Ticket Center, located at 39 East State Street. The CBUSArts Ticket Center is open Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm, and 2 hours before a Columbus Symphony performance.

Should you have any questions about the exchange process, please call the CBUSArts Ticket Center at 614.469.0939. As a subscriber, there is no fee to exchange tickets, but if you exchange to a higher-priced performance and/or seating location, there will be a difference to be collected upon the exchange being processed. We are not able to refund or credit a difference when exchanging for a lower-priced performance or seating area.

I’m not a CSO Season Ticket Subscriber, am I still able to exchange tickets?

Yes. As a non-subscriber, there will be a $5 per ticket exchange fee. You may still exchange tickets, and follow the same protocol listed in the previous question. Again all exchanges MUST be done at least 24 hours in advance of your performance.

What is the Columbus Arts & Culture Fee

For all subscription/membership renewals and tickets purchased on or after July 1, 2019, and for events taking place in the City of Columbus, a 5% ticket fee will be applied. The Columbus Arts & Culture Fee will be applied to for-profits & nonprofit arts, sports, and entertainment tickets, and admissions in the City of Columbus. The Columbus Arts & Culture Fee helps make the arts available to all by funding free festivals and events, exemplary artists, arts organizations, and programs that educate and engage audiences throughout Greater Columbus.

I’ve misplaced or lost my ticket(s), what can I do?

Call the CBUSArts Ticket Center as soon as you realize your tickets are missing. Having your account number ready will be useful in the ticket center and assist in looking up your subscription/tickets to verify your seating and performance. We can reprint your tickets, thus making the original tickets void. If this happens less than 10 days before a performance we will hold the reissued tickets at Will Call to be picked up at the theatre of your performance. Will Call opens two hours before showtime. You will just need a form of identification to pick up the tickets.

Is there a group ticket rate available for Columbus Symphony shows?

Yes. Our group sales department can assist you in purchasing a group of tickets. The group minimum for most shows is 10. Please email Rodney Pew, patron services manager, at [email protected].

I’m a Columbus Symphony Season Ticket Subscriber, I cannot make a performance, but I have tickets to the rest of the shows. What can I do?

There are a few options, you can exchange your tickets to a performance you already have tickets to and get extra tickets for said performance. We will try our best to find two new seats near your subscription seats. You could give the “gift of music” to family or friends! Last but not least you could always donate your tickets back to the Symphony. Donating tickets follows the same procedure as exchanging tickets. Donations of tickets MUST be done at least 24 hours in advance of your performance. Tickets for a Saturday or Sunday performance must be donated by 5pm on Friday. Any donation request received after these times cannot be processed. Once a donation has been processed a letter from our development department will be sent to you for your tax-deductible records.

I missed my scheduled performance due to an emergency. Do I have any options?

Unforeseen circumstances and emergencies happen, we understand. If such a situation has prevented you from making exchange arrangements prior to your scheduled performance, call us. We will attempt to relocate you into a remaining performance of the same show, on a space-available basis only. NO refunds or donations are offered for missed performances.

Do you offer a Senior Discount?

Certainly! You must be 65 years young or older to qualify. Just request the senior discount when you call or come in to purchase your tickets.

Do you offer a Student Discount?

Yes, we do! Any high school or college student with a valid student ID may come into the CBUSArts Ticket Center the week of the show (starting on Monday at 9am) and purchase up to two tickets per valid ID. What is the College Club?
