Songs of Hope, Comfort and Love
The Columbus Symphony Chamber Chorus, under the direction of chorus master, Ronald Jenkins, will present a program of 20th and 21st century choral music entitled, “Songs of Hope, Comfort and Love,” Friday evening, April 3, 7:30 pm in the beautiful setting of First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad Street. The chorus will be joined in the program by the New World Singers, Jeanne Wohlgamuth, director.
The featured work will be the peaceful and meditative Duruflé “Requiem,” accompanied by Kevin Jones, organist, with solo instrumentalists of the CSO.
The second half of the program will focus on songs of love and hope, with works by Stephen Paulus, Samuel Barber, Eric Whitacre, Ian Coleman, Stephen Main, Jean Berger, and Leonard Bernstein.
