Columbus Symphony Cares is a new initiative that combines the arts with community service by employing a new approach to engaging many of the most vulnerable populations and underserved audiences in our community with music and the arts. This program creates strategic partnerships between the Columbus Symphony and social service organizations and local public school districts throughout central Ohio to further their missions by bringing the transformative power of music to their clients, consituencies, students, and staffs.
The Columbus Symphony is committed to understanding the needs of our partnering organizations to create meaningful programming for participants that have little to no exposure to classical music and the Symphony. Musical opportunities are highly customized to suit the organization needs and missions of participating agencies. Columbus Symphony Cares opens the door to a new world of enriching experiences including live performances, access to musicians, and interative educational programs.
Examples include after-school programming, ensemble performances and programs for seniors, family fun days, instrument “petting zoos,” bilingual ensemble performances and countless free tickets to help advance the mission of our social service and community partners.
