Each year, thousands of students throughout the greater Columbus area participate in the Columbus Symphony’s Young People’s Concerts. Concerts are programmed at the Ohio Theatre and are thematically based and grade appropriate. Pre-concert materials are provided for teachers and students based on the Ohio Academic content standards. All seats are $5 and include pre-concert materials for students and lesson guide for teachers. Password protected concert recordings are available on the CSO website for streaming and download. Please visit our classroom program FAQs page here.
RESOURCES
During this time of learning at home, the Columbus Symphony Education Department is happy to share learning resources from past Young People's Concerts, including student resource guides and teaching suggestions. The grade levels for which the materials were written are indicated but all can certainly be enjoyed by every age. Nearly all music is accessible through various online sites and some links are included within the materials. We hope you enjoy these lessons and we very much look forward to seeing you in healthier times at a Columbus Symphony concert.
