youth orchestra auditions

The Columbus Symphony Orchestra offers four training orchestras for talented young instrumentalists. Student musicians come from throughout the central Ohio area. These ensembles are part of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra's comprehensive education program and are among the finest of their kind in the nation. Each ensemble rehearses weekly and offers a variety of performances and other educational activities each season.

All orchestra members in this program are expected to also participate in their school orchestra or band (if available) and must take private lessons.

The activities of the Columbus Symphony Youth, Cadet, Chamber Strings, and Junior Strings are sponsored by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. The Ohio State University provides additional support for the Chamber Strings program. The New Albany Arts Alliance provides in-kind support of the Junior Strings Orchestra. The Dublin City Schools provides additional support for the Columbus Youth Orchestra.
