About Friends of the Columbus Symphony
Founded in 1951, Friends of the Columbus Symphony (formerly known as Women’s Association of the Columbus Symphony) is committed to fundraising, youth education, hospitality services and volunteer support.
To enrich the musical education of children and youth, Friends of the Columbus Symphony plans hands-on activities preceding family concerts and arranges for students to attend concert performances. Each spring, the group provides a $500 cash award to the senior division winner of the Young Musicians’ Competition. Hospitality services include hosting dinners for visiting artists and orchestra members, providing refreshments for Side-by-Side rehearsals, and organizing annual appreciation luncheons and receptions for the musicians and the Chorus.
Four quarterly general membership meetings are held on Saturdays during lunch with a fee charged for food service. Meetings rotate at various venues in the Columbus area and the programs include a Symphony-related speaker or musical performance.
New members are welcomed year round. Dues are only $30 per year. Contact Assistant Treasurer Helen Hall at (614) 218-9326 or click here for a membership form.
