Heralded as the “hottest artist on the classical music planet” by The New York Times and the “world’s ambassador of the keyboard” by The New Yorker, international piano superstar Lang Lang joins the CSO for 2014 CSO Gala. The Chinese fireball will blaze his way through Prokofiev’s third piano concerto, a work tailor-matched to his astonishing talents. Stravinsky’s 1945 version of the fairytale ballet “The Firebird” includes much of the scintillating music found in the full ballet written 35 years earlier.

Lang Lang has played sold out concerts in every major city in the world, and his success has catapulted him into the world spotlight. In 2008, Lang Lang was featured in concert with jazz pianist Herbie Hancock at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards, and was a featured performer at the Opening Ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In 2009, Lang Lang appeared in the Time's annual list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. More recently, Lang Lang has been chosen as an official worldwide ambassador for the 2010 Shanghai Expo. Lang Lang is seen as a symbol of the youth and future of China, and is an inspiration to the 40 million classical piano students there.

Option 1: Individual tickets

$500 per person, for the Honorary Committee, includes your name listed on event signage and Bravo program*, all events, valet parking, and premium Lang Lang tickets

$400 per person tickets include all events, valet parking, and premium Lang Lang tickets

$300 per person tickets include all events and valet parking excluding concert tickets (for those that already have purchased Lang Lang tickets)

$150 per person tickets include premium Lang Lang tickets and dessert reception only.
