The Columbus Symphony is pleased to present the debut performance of the Columbus City Schools All-City Orchestra on Sunday, May 18 at 3 pm at the Capitol Theatre. Admission is free. The All-City Orchestra, conducted by Peter Stafford Wilson, is comprised of 50 talented students from 11 high schools with the Columbus City public school district.

Angel in the Wings: Major booster of symphony fights to keep the music playing

On March 11, pianist Anton Kuerti came to the rescue with a last-minute performance of the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5, (Emperor), with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, "paying tribute to every parent who ever bailed his kid out of a jam." (Boston Globe)  Mr. Kuerti will appear as guest artist on the Columbus Symphony Classical Season finale on May 10 and 11.

As a result of an extraordinary individual gift by a Board member, the Columbus Symphony expects to have the financial resources necessary to complete its Classical and Pops seasons, the final performance of which will occur on May 31, 2008.
