The next Columbus Symphony Chorus auditions will take place in August, 2008. Stay tuned for additional information.
Each audition lasts about 8-10 minutes and consists of the following:
1) The auditionee sings a prepared piece of classical music—a simple piece will suffice. The purpose is to demonstrate the person's voice and musicality. An accompanist is provided. Please bring a copy of the music for the pianist and a copy for the chorus conductor to follow, as well as your own. It is not necessary to memorize the piece.
2) Each person will be given some ear-training/testing (repeating intervals) and be asked to vocalize.
3) Each person will be asked to sight-read, often the choice is a Bach chorale.
Auditionees are notified by letter the week following the final audition of that particular session.
